CHRISTMAS PARCELS FOR TROOPS
LARGE VOLUME HANDLED IN INVERCARGILL Sorting parcels from Invercargill for members of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force has been a work of some magnitude in the last few weeks. The average number of parcels sent during the past week, by which time it was necessary to post parcels to ensure delivery by Christmas, was about 200 daily, and almost as many have been sent since then. The parcels decreased numerically and increased in size as a result of the reduction in postage to 2/- for those up to 111 b. Several weeks ago about 400 parcels of a smaller size were being despatched daily.
