•, BASKETBALL Results of the matches in the Waiau Basketball Association’s competitions were as follows: — A Grade —Pukemaori 18, Tuatapere 14; Papatotara 13, Clifden 10. B Grade —Orepuki, 20, Tuatapere 6; Western Star 20, Clifden 18. The first round of the A grade is now finished, Pukemaori leading with five points. Papatotara has four, Tuatapere three and Clifden none.
It hqs been decided to play three rounds in the A grade and the draw for the second round with the remaining B grade matches is as follows: — A Grade—May 24, Clifden v. Tuatapere; Papatotara v. Pukemaori; May 31, Tuatapere v. Pukemaori; Papatotara v. Clifden; June 7, Pukemaori v. Clifden; Tuatapere v. Papatotara. B Grade—May 24, Clifden v. Tuatapere; Pukemaori v. Orepuki; Western Star a bye. May 31, Orepuki v. Western Star; Tuatapere v. Pukemaori; Clifden a bye. Matches are not being played in the same order as in the first round because of travelling difficulties.
