Chester Morris, who plays the title role in “Meet Boston Blackie, ’ first of a new series, is accounted one of the finest amateur magicians in the world. He learned many of his tricks from Houdini.

In “A Girl’s Best Friend Is Wall Street,” Franchot Tone, co-starred with Joan Bennett, leads the very life he gave up when he decided upon a theatrical career. He plays a Wall Street financier.
