KITCHEN EVENING AT OHAI

MISS I. SMITH HONOURED

In honour of her approaching marriage, Miss Irene Smith was given a" kitchen evening by members of the Methodist Church in the church vestry, when Mesdames Newton and Morrison were the hostesses. The evening was spent in games and competitions. The Rev. Mr Brassell was master of ceremonies. Mr Brassell asked Miss Smith to accept the many gifts for her future home. In reply, Miss Smith thanked the hostesses and many friends for the gifts and pleasant evening, and invited them to visit her in Gore in the near future. After supper the evening was brought to a close by the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” Those present were: Mr and Mrs H. Brassell, Mesdames Mills, sen., D. Nicol,'J. Nesbit, J. Mills, D. Mills, A. Dixon, T. Smith, D, Morrison and E. M. Newton. Misses I. Smith, R. Grigg, D. Brown, E. Harding, N. Elliott, M. Mitchell, B. Nicol, N. Tiplady. Messrs R. McLean, G. Bryant, J. Tiplady and W. Elliott.
