FOOD SHORTAGE ON PITCAIRN ISLAND
WAR INTERRUPTS DELIVERY OF SUPPLIES (Received December 18, 6.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, December 17. Rear-Admiral Richard E. Byrd reports an acute food shortage at Pitcairn Island, which is in need of flour, sugar, lard, potatoes, matches and medical supplies. The war has prevented. the usual supplies being sent. There is no danger of starvation.
