Portrait of Sir James Carroll
A painting of the late Sir Janies Carroll was presented to the Dominion Museum by East Coast and Gisborne friends of Sir James. Sir Apirana Ngata presented the painting to Mr T. C. A. Hislop, chairman of the trustees of the museum. The work Sir James had done in fostering relations between the Maori race and pakehas was stressed by Sir Apirana. The painting was the work of Linley Richardson.
