CONCERT BY W.D.F.U. SINGING CLASS
ITEMS WELL RECEIVED BY BIG AUDIENCE
The singing class of the Wyndham branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held its third concert for the season in the Edendale Hall. Thre was an excellent attendance and all the items were well received. The following was the programme:— Choruses," And The Glory,” “Behold the Lamb of God” and “Lift Up Your Heads,” the class; tenor solos, “Star o’ Robbie Bums,” and “Red Devon By the Sea,” Mr R. McDonald; recitations, “Spinster’s Philosophy” ■ and “It’s ’Omely,” Miss A. Dobbie; sexette, “Ye Shepherds Tell Me,” Mrs Ferguson, Misses J. Rabbidge and H. Stewart, Messrs P. Johnston, R. McDonald and R. Evans; pianoforte solos, Mrs J. Simpson; soprano solos, “A Heart That is Free” and “One Day When We Were Young,” Miss Claire Traynor; mouth organ solos, Mr A. Mclntosh (Gore class); vocal duets, “Santa Lucia” and “Aloha-oe,” Misses R. Woodley and S. Campbell; choruses, “Nymphs and Shepherds,” “O the Sweet Delights of Spring,” the class; madrigals, “Now is the Month of Maying,” male members of the Gore class; vocal trio in character, “Three Old Maids of Lee,” Mesdames W. L. Stewart, J. Burleigh and A. Ferguson; accordion solos, Mr R. McDonald; tenor solos, “Her Name is Mary,” and “Trees,” Mr R. Evans; mouth organ solos, Mr A. Mclntosh (Gore class); contralto solos, “What A Wonderful World It Would Be,” and “A String of Pearls,” Mrs A. Ferguson; choruses, “Worthy is the Lamb,” “Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs” and “Hallelujah,” the class. Following supper a short dance was held for which Messrs W. Brown and T. Rabbidge supplied the music.
