TENNIS
CLIFTON CLUB Ideal weather favoured the Clifton Tennis Club for its official opening on Saturday afternoon. There was a good attendance of members and friends, and members of other clubs were also present. The president (Mr R. Ross) extended a welcome to all present and expressed his wish that the club would have a very enjoyable season. A Yankee tournament was held and the winners were Miss M. Henderson and G. Peace. Afternoon tea was served by the women and a happy afternoon was spent. A dance was held in the evening and this function proved most successful.
Serve grilled trout with melted butter, flavoured to taste with lemon juice and a teaspoon of chopped parsley.
