SOUTHEND CROQUET CLUB OPENING
On Saturday the president and members of the Southland Croquet Club held the official opening of their greens. Mrs Shiels welcomed the visitors and asked Mr Martin to declare the greens open, after which Mrs Martin played the first ball.
The following were the winners of the. competitons held:—Golf, Mrs L. Smith; ladder, Mrs Mitchell; corner ball, Mrs Ronald; angles, Mrs Hamilton; French croquet, Mrs Campbell.
