DONATIONS BY MEMBERS OF ROYAL FAMILY (Received September 12, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, September 11. The King has given £5OOO and the Queen £2OOO to the Mansion House Fund opened in response to the Duke of Gloucester’s appeal for the Red Cross' and St. John emergency committee. ’ WELLINGTON, September 12. The Film Industry Board of New Zealand, representing all sections of the motion picture industry, has written to the Prime Minister (the Rl Hon. M. J. Savage) offering its wholehearted assistance in the crisis. “If there is any service which may be regarded as useful, involving the use of films and the screens of our theatres, we wish to assure the Government that they are unreservedly at its disposal,” says the letter. “We recognize the heavy responsibility resting on the shoulders of the Government during this trying time and desire to express our appreciation 'of what is being done and to assure you of our loyal and unswerving support.” This offer, for which the acting Prime Minister (the Hon P. Fraser) has expressed the Government’s cordial thanks, is made on behalf of the Film Industry Board over the signatures of Mr W. F. Stillwell. S.M.. chairman, and Mr W. J. Fife, secretary.
