OIL COMPANY’S STORE ON FIRE

CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO BUILDING (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 25. Seeing flames coming from the Vacuum Oil Company’s store on the Hutt road about 4.40 o’clock this morning, the nightwatchman at the Thorndon tramsheds broke the street alarm. The brigade responded and ran two leads to a fire on the top floor of the two-story building and the fire was out in about half an hour. The cause is unknown. Considerable damage was done to the building and its contents.
