SOUTHERN DISTRICT COMPETITION GAMES IN WET WEATHER Games in the Southern District Rugby competitions were played in wet weather. WAIMAHAKA (9) v. TAHAKOPA (9) Playing at Waimahaka, Tahakopa was unlucky not to win, having the better of play for the greater part of the game. The bustling tactics adopted by both sides spoiled any promising back movements that were attempted. Once or twice Waimahaka started promising movements, but indecision cost the side at least two tries. Over-eagerness cost each side several points through players getting offside near the line. Tahakopa’s nine points were scored from this fault and Waimahaka scored six of their nine points from the same offence . The teams were: WAIMAHAKA: E. Cnghton, C. Livingstone, J. Christie, W. Hoffman scored an unconverted try. Mr H. Golden was referee.

SEAWARD DOWNS (11) v. OTERAMIKA (7)

Playing at Oteramika, Seaward Downs had a narrow win in the last few minutes of play. For the winners Parcel and B. Baxter scored tries and J. Blackmore kicked a penalty goal and converted one try. R. Kelly scored a try and D. McNaughton kicked a good field goal. Mr W. R. Robertson was referee.
