CENTRAL DISTRICT COMPETITION TOURNAMENT AT WINTON The basketball tournament to be held at Winton last Saturday by the Central Basketball Association, which was postponed because of the wet weather, is to be held on Saturday. The draw is as follows:— 1 p.m., Winton v. High School (junior); 1.14 p.m., Winton v. Rovers (senior); 1.28 p.m., Limehills v. Browns (senior),; 1.42 p.m., Winton v. Browns (junior); 1.56 p.m., Rovers v. Spar Bush (senior); 2.10 p.m., High School v. Rovers (junior). WAKATIPU ASSOCIATION The annual meeting of the Wakatipu Basketball Association was held in the library. Dr Anderson presided over a fair attendance. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted, the working for the year showing a profit. Dr Anderson was re-elected president and Mrs R. Eastlake was reelected secretary. ; Five teams have entered for the Gardiner Cup competition. The association fee for each team was fixed at 2/6. It was resolved that this season the association pay for new poles, rings and nets and also the marking off of one court in the park. A proposal that the association help this year with travelling expenses was discussed and it was decided that the funds would not permit of any assistance being given. _ , Permission was given for a Yankee tournament to be held during the season for the Sports Queen, and also for the Rovers and St. Josephs teams to travel to Invercargill for Country Day.
