FIRE AT WAINGAWA FREEZING WORKS
LOSS ESTIMATED AT £20,000
(United Press Association) MASTERTON, February 6. It is unofficially stated that the loss caused by the fire at the Waingawa freezing works was £20,000. Work was resumed at the works this morning, except in the slaughtering departments. Sheep which were to have been killed at Waingawa were sent to Feilding, Waitara and Hastings for slaughtering. Some of the butchers from Waingawa went to these works to cope with the extra sheep.
