ROTTEN EGGS FOR ITALIAN ADMIRAL
“GOODWILL CRUISE” TO PANAMA
(Received February 6, 7.40 p.m.) PANAMA CITY, February 5. Two Italian cruisers on a goodwill cruise met angry crowds, and Admiral Sonigli’s car was pelted with rotten eggs when he drove to call on the of Panama. Police reserves were called out.
Feeling is high as a result of editorials by Dr Virginio Gayda (“the mouthpiece of Mussolini”) stating that the Italian and German defence frontiers may extend to Panama Canal.
