RESEARCH WORK IN TUBERCULOSIS

MORE THAN £12,000 TO BE EXPENDED (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, December 16. More than £12,000 will be spent on research into tuberculosis at the medical school at the University of Otago over a period of seven years out of the income from the Travis Bequest, according to an announcement made this evening by the chairman of the Board of Trustees (Mr J. W. Beanland). The bequest, which was made under the will of Mr W. H. Travis, of Christchurch, who died in June 1927, amounted to about £50,000, and the testator stipulated that the income was to be spent on research into tuberculosis and cancer.
