MATAURA VALLEY COMPETITION MENZIES FERRY BEATS BRYDONE Playing at Menzies Ferry in the Mataura Valley tennis competition the home team beat Brydone by five sets and 40 games to three sets and 28 games. In the following results, Menzies Ferry names appear first:— Men’s Doubles.—Foxon and Evans beat Parker and Johnston, 6-3; Matheson and Henderson lost to Titchener and Kennedy, 2-6. Women’s Doubles—Misses Newman and Henderson lost to Misses Moore and Drysdale, 3-6; Mrs Bulling and Miss Paterson beat Miss Hay and Mrs Lambie, 6-0. Mixed Doubles.—Foxon and Miss Newman lost to Parker and Miss Moore, 5-6; Evans and Miss Henderson beat Johnston and Miss Drysdale, 6-0; Matheson and Mrs Bulling beat Kennedy and Miss Hay, 6-4; Henderson and Miss Paterson beat Titchener and Mrs Lambie, 6-3. Edendale having withdrawn from the competition Menzies Ferry has entered a second team, which will take the place of Edendale in the draw.
