TODAY’S RECIPE
MUSHROOM STUFFING 6 cups breadcrumbs. 3 teaspoons salt. 1 cup good dripping or butter. 2 cups sliced mushrooms. i cup chopped onion. 1 teaspoon chopped celery. i teaspoon pepper. 1 tablespoon sage. 1 tablespoon chopped parsley. Combine the crumbs, salt, sage, celery, parsley and pepper. Meanwhile melt the fat in a frying pan.. Add onions and mushrooms and, simmer gently till golden brown and tender. Add seasoned breadcrumbs and stir and heat until the crumbs are brown. Quantities sufficient for a five pound bird. SARAH.
