COMPENSATING PRICE POLICY ATTACKED

MR LANGSTONE SPEAKS AT HASTINGS (United Press Association) HASTINGS, June 20. The Minister of Lands (the Hon. F. Langstone) addressed a crowded meeting at Hastings tonight and was given an enthusiastic reception. The principal points of the Minister’s speech were denials of rumours which he said were being circulated that if the Labour Party were returned at the General Election it would attempt to take the land from the farmers and introduce legislation making the inheritance of property impossible. These rumours were called “a malicious form of propaganda” by the Minister,’ who also strongly attacked the compensating price policy of the National Party. Mr Langstone was accorded a vote of thanks and a vote of confidence.in Mr E. L. Cullen as the member of Parliament for the electorate was also passed.
