APPRENTICE DIES IN HOSPITAL
FATAL INJURIES IN SMASH AT RAND WICK (Received December 21, 6.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 21. Max Papworth, the 15-year-old apprentice who was injured in the smash at Randwick on Saturday, died in hospital. Two other jockeys, Findlay and Sepping, are still in hospital, but they are progressing. The remaining two, Thomson and Dyer, have practically recovered.
