FRUIT CAKE J pound butter. | pound, brown sugar. 7 eggs. Pinch of soda. J pound flour. 1 pound sultanas. i pound currants. | pound seeded raisins. 2 tablespoons vinegar. 1 tablespoon glycerine. | pound mixed peel. J pound preserved ginger. | pound figs. | pound dates. i pound cherries. J pound almonds. 1 teaspoon vanilla. 1 teaspoon lemon essence.
Bake three to four hours at 350 degrees F.; reduce to 300 degrees F. SARAH.
