Before beginning to make mayonnaise it is most practical to cut a small wedge-shaped notch in' the cork of the salad oil bottle. The bottle can be held under one arm while you beat the mayonnaise, and the oil will then flow drop by drop. Of course, the bottle must not be inclined more than to allow just enough oil to pass that the mayonnaise can take it without separating.
