FISHERMEN LOST IN ARCTIC WASTE

PLANES FROM MOSCOW TO RESCUE MOSCOW, October 29. Three planes and dog sleighs are racing to the rescue of 28 fishermen who have been lost for a month in a frozen gulf. Eskimos last week picked up seven half-frozen fishermen on the shore of the gulf, where they had collapsed after a trek from boats trapped in the icepacks. Two others were sighted from the shore drifting on an ice-floe. The fate of the others is not yet known.
