THREAT TO FRENCH CABINET
RADICAL-SOCIALISTS’ VOTE ALTERED (Received October 31, 6.30 p.m.) PARIS, October 30. A snap resolution which might have resulted in the fall of the Government was admitted by the Radical-Socialist Congress of Lille, condemning the financial policy of the late Blum Government. It was believed that the delegates did not realize the importance of the vote, which might have led to the resignation of the Socialist members of the Cabinet of M. Camille Chautemps. However it was expected that the resolution would be redrafted before its incorporation in a final resolution, after the Minister of Finance (M. Georges Bonnet) affirmed that the next Budget would be balanced. The Congress unanimously passed a later resolution settling internal dissensions.
