ASPECTS OF COUNTY ADMINISTRATION
SEVERAL PAPERS PRESENTED AT CONFERENCE (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 24. The actual business discussions at today’s conference of county clerks were held in committee. The balance-sheet which was received and adopted showed a credit balance of £157 12/9 on the year’s working. The presidents of the various district branches reported on the respective activities and Messrs G. Kelly (Ashburton), D. Ashcroft (Manakau) and C. Cowper (Waimarie) presented papers on several aspects of county administration. Mr C. J. Talbot (Fairlie), president of the New Zealand Counties Association, and Mr F. Belton (Patea), a member of the executive, visited the conference during the afternoon and each addressed it.
