Queenstown FOOTBALL CLUBS

ANNUAL MEETINGS At the annual meeting of the Queenstown Football Club there were about 20 players and supporters present. In the unavoidable absence of the president (Mr W. J. Edwards) Mr J. D. Seekup occupied the chair. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The report stated that as so many players had left the district difficulty would be experienced in raising a senior team and the club would have to draw heavily on the junior team for players. Curtis; secretary, Mr G. Lynch (re-elected); general committee, Messrs J. D. Seekup, C. A. Inglis, J. T. Lynch, D. McCorkindale, J. Tolbot, F. Anderson and captains of both grades; delegates to sub-union, Messrs E. S. Landrebe and A. E. Farrant; selectors, coaches and captains of the respective grades; coaches, Messrs J. T. Lynch, L. Hanrahan and N. McDonald; auditor, Mr P. W. J. Cockerill (re-elected). Opening day was fixed for April 24 with a friendly match to be arranged with the Country Club. Several new members were elected. The secretary was instructed to write to Messrs A. Simson and C. M. Inglis, thanking them for their services to the club. Mr Inglis, who has been the club’s delegate to the sub-union for several years and had the honour of being elected president for the past season, advised that owing to pressure of business he would not be able to take an active interest in club matters. Three players ’ were injured during the playing season and their doctor and hospital expenses amounted to £l5 15/-, which were payed out of the general fund. The following office-bearers were elected:—Patrons, Messrs D. Jardine, Angus, Smith and H. Ross (re-elected); president, Mr James McClean; honorary secretary, Mr W. McLean; assistant secretary, Mr I. Brown; auditor, Mr D. H. Cockburn; club captain, to be elected at first club game. Delegates to sub-union, Messrs R. Oliver and W. McLean; coaches, Messrs James McDonald and A. Buchanan. Arrowtown Club The annual meeting of the Arrowtown Football Club was held in the Borough Council Chambers. In the absence of the president (Mr G. Romans) Mr W. Nairn occupied the chair. There was a fair attendance of players and supporters. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The report complimented the senior team on winning the Teachers cup and the junior team the sub-union cup. • The following office-bearers were elected:—President, Mr George Romans (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs James Shaw, W. A. Warring, W. H. James, E. L. Thompson, C. Swan and A. McPherson; secretary, Mr E. J. Saunders (re-elected); treasurer, Mr W. H. James (re-elected); general committee, Messrs A. B. Hamilton, W. H. James, W. Naim, J. Henderson, G. Murphy; club captain, Mr R. L. Fletcher; coach, the Rev. K. lan Cameron; delegates to sub-union, Messrs W. H. James and E. J. Saunders; selectors, the Rev. K. lan Cameron and club captain.
