Mataura DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB

ANNUAL SHOOT FOR, WEBB TROPHY The Mataura Defence Rifle Club held its annual shoot for the Webb Trophy recently. Apart from the fact that the iparksmen had to fire into the sun, conditions were fair. Falconer was in great form and by putting on a possible at 500 yards and 49 at 300 yards is now almost certain to win the aggregate trophy. It may be mentioned also that his last shot at 300 yards was a nine at 9 o’clock, and just missed the bull. Others worthy of mention were J. C. Munro, L. Dickie and R. Barclay, all of whom showed excellent form. That the five top men averaged 97.2, proves that Mataura has an exceptionally good team this year. The finals for the Parker Cup, R.S.A. Cup, and aggregate trophy, will be shot next Saturday.

Results were:— 300 yds. 500 yds. Ttl.
