Limehills ATHLETIC CLUB
THE ANNUAL MEETING
At the annual meeting of the Limehills Athletic Club Mr H. Hammond presided over an attendance of 17. The president referred to the loss the club had had during the year in the death of two vice-presidents, Mr Martin Kean and Mr William Keith. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect. The report and balance-sheet, showing a profit of £4 4/-, were adopted. The following officials were appointed:—Patron, Dr P. Gow; president, Mr H. Hammond (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs O. Cairns, J. Doherty, C. Watson and R. A. Tippett; treasurer, Mr A. Bromley; secretary, Mr E. J. Crowe; starter for running and cycling, Mr M. Cahill; starters for bushcraft, Messrs M. Dowling and A. E. Cocker; handicapper for running, Mr Wallace Murdoch; handicapper for bushcraft, Mr M. Dowling. Messrs G. Blanks and R. A. Tippett were appointed the club’s delegates to the meeting of the centre at Edendale. It was decided to donate £2 2/- to the subscription list for Mr F. Forde, who is ill. .EUCHRE TOURNAMENT The committee responsible for the improvements to the Soldiers’ Memorial held two successful euchre tournaments in the hall. The winners at the first tournament were: Women: Mrs W. McNaught 1, Mrs M. Crowe 2. Men: Mr Ledgerwood 1, Mr O. Cairns 2. The winners at the second tournament were:—Mrs R. Woods 1, Miss E. Whelan 2. Men: Mr P. Boyd 1, Mr O. Cairns 2. A dance was held, music being supplied by Miss N. Crowe (piano) and Messrs C. Watson and B. D. Mehaffey (violins).
