EDUCATION BOARD MEETINGS
PRESS PRESENT BY COURTESY.
(United Press Association.) Wellington, September 18. Following the incident at the Wellington Education Board on Tuesday night, when a member refused to comply with the terms of a motion, the chairman (Mr W. V. Dyer) has issued a statement concerning the publication of reports of its meetings. Mr Dyer, while refusing to give an official report on the incident, stated that the board was not obliged to make public any of its proceedings. It had been ruled by the Crown Law Office that the proceedings of the board did not constitute a public meeting and that the Press and - representatives of the public might attend open meetings of the board only by courtesy.
