THEFTS ON RANGITANE
STEWARD SENTENCED. (United Press Association.) Wellington, September 18. The steward and the steward’s boy who were before the Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with theft on the Rangitane were dealt with to-day. Frederick James, the steward, was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within two. years and the boy, Peter John Frederick Ransom, was r.emanded to the Children’s Court. Mr Justice Smith said that he understood arrangements had been made for James to leave the country and no doubt he would take the first opportunity to do so.
