COMMERCIAL RADIO STATION
OPERATION WITHIN A FORTNIGHT (United Press Association.) Wellington, September 17. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, stated to-day that he expected the first commercial radio station in the Dominion to be in operation with a fortnight as it was possible to acquire one of the Auckland B stations and he saw no practical difficulty in respect to the question of staff. Referring to a short-wave station for overseas transmission, he said he was unable to state definitely when it would be established; there was so much to do concerning the radio policy that breathing space must be allowed the Government
