LORD WALERAN MARRIED AGAIN
NEWSPAPER MILLIONAIRE’S DAUGHTER.

London, September 16. Lord Waleran was married to-day to Betty, younger daughter of Sir Emsley Carr, millionaire proprietor of The News of the World. They are joining the Orion at Toulon on a world tour, which will include Australia and New Zealand. The guests included Sir Isaac and Lady Isaacs, Sir Harry and Lady Brittain, Sir Henry and Lady Horton, Lord and Lady Iliffe, Sir Roderick and Lady Jones, Viscount and Viscountess Wakefield and Mr J, L. Garvin, editor of The Observer. Lord Waleran, who is 31 years of age, was Second Secretary to the Governor-General of New Zealand (Sir Charles Fergusson) from 1927 till 1930. In 1932 he married Miss Margaret Blackader, of Montreal, from whom’ he obtained a divorce in 1934.
