FRANCE DEMANDS INDEMNITY
National Shot By Spanish Rebels
PROGRESS OF WAR
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Paris, September 16. France demanded an indemnity of £4OOO from the insurgent authorities at Tetuan (Morocco) following the execution by them of a Frenchman named Henri Aguilard. The time limit expires on September 17, and its rejection entails the closing of the Franco-Spanish frontier in Morocco.
The Spanish rebels have opened a very heavy offensive against Toledo. They claim to have inflicted 1000 loyalist casualties. A message from San Sebastian says that Moorish troops have resumed- the advance towards Bilbao.
Thousands of refugees returned over the international bridge at Irun when the frontier was reopened. Most of them found their homes in ruins.
