CAPPING CEREMONY POSTPONED. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, December 16. The Governors of Lincoln College have decided to postpone till next year the capping ceremony and laying of the foundation stone of the new demonstration theatre which had been arranged for to-morrow. This announcement follows an incident concerning which members of the board held an inquiry at the college last week. Nothing was made public regarding the affair, but it was freely stated a member of the staff had been assaulted by the students. The annual college dinner was to have been held to-night and the capping ceremony, which has now been postponed, was to have been held tomorrow.
