THEFT OF WOOL
SENTENCE OF IMPRISONMENT.
(Per United Press Association.) Palmerston North, December 16. “I am afraid this is a case where leniency will not be given,” declared the Magistrate, Mr J. L. Stout, when sentencing Lawrence Burton, aged 3G, a wool buyer, to three months’ gaol tor the theft of 1501 b of wool at Te Aute. The police stated there was a fair amount of wool stealing in Hawkes Bay and the offenders were hard to catch.
