POLICY PLANS
CABINET MEETING IN JANUARY. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, December 16. The first meeting of Cabinet in the New Year will be held on January 8, when several major matters confronting the new Government will be considered, including the restoration of the powers of the Arbitration Court with regard to industrial unions, broadcasting and finance. “We’ve got a start with implementing the major portions of the, programme we put to the electors,’ said the Hon. M. J. Savage to-day. “That is, we have to lay the financial foundation. Until that is done we cannot do anything else worth speaking about. The restoration of the powers of the Arbitration Court and the restoration of wage cuts and increases naturally follow after.”
