SPORTS CLUB.
(From Our Correspondent.) The final meeting of the club was held on Saturday night, Mr Matheson, the president, presiding. The secretary read the balance sheet, showing a credit of some £29 for the season’s activities. This, together with the Athletic Club’s donation, will make a substantial sum for each club. The president thanked the secretary and all the committee for the manner in which they had worked for the good of the club. Appreciation was also expressed at the way in which the president conducted the meetings and thd* assistance he had given at the different functions, he was accorded a hearty vote - of thanks. •
The services in the parish were taken by the Rev. Mr Whitehead on Sunday, the Rev. Mr Thomson taking the charges in the Wallacetown district. Next Sunday Mr James will dccupy the pulpits in the Kennington parish, the Rev. Mr Thomson having left on Monday to attend the General Assembly. The intake of milk for the last day in October was 3400 gallons which made 42 cheeses equalling Ij tons. The decrease in tonnage amounted to about 19 tons for the corresponding month last year. The supply has increased rapidly since the start of this month by 200 gallons owing to some rain freshening up the pastures and several late suppliers starting. The fortnightly meeting of the lodge was held on Monday night Bro. J. Henderson, N.C., presiding. It was decided
to hold a church parade on the 24th of this month inviting the ladies’ lodge and town lodges to join in. After the usual business had been transacted Bro. Peters conducted a degree meeting which was very instructive to all present
