OPIUM SMOKING
CHINESE FINED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, November 4. Following a police raid in Nelson street, Ah Lee, a Chinese gardener, charged with being the occupier of premises and permitting them to be used for the purpose of smoking opium, was fined £lOO by Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court. Several Chinese found on the premises were fined sums of £3O and £2O each according to circumstances. 4
