At the Stadium in a welterweight boxing contest Jimmy Purcell (Australia) knocked out Harry Devine (United States) in the fourth round. Alf Blatch (New South Wales) easily out-pointed Bert Osborne (Victoria) in a 15-round contest for the lightweight championship of Australia.
