MAGISTRATE’S COURT
SITTING AT GORE. Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., presided at a sitting of the Gore Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Judgment was given by default for plaintiffs with costs in the following undefended civil claims:—R. S. Green and F. T. Pannell v. Cedric G. Greenfield (Gore) for £2 1/-, costs £1 5/6; United Trading Co. Ltd. v. Henry A. Price (Mataura) for £2 13/-, costs £1 3/6; James Ritchie v. Basil Printz (Timaru) for 5/-, costs 8/-; Lewis Stevenson and Charles Arnold (Winton) for 13/8, costs 12/-; same v. J. Arnold (Winton) for 6/4, costs 12/-. On a judgment summons, James McAllan (Gore) was ordered to pay to the Gore Implement Exchange the sum of £3 17/6, in default four days’ imprisonment, the order to be suspended so long as the judgment debtor paid £1 per month. Traffic Breaches. The traffic inspector (Mr J. H. Croad) proceeded against several motorists for driving motor cars without being the holders of drivers’ licenses. Robert M. Pullar (Pttkerau) was ordered to pay 12/- costs; Richard Keogh (Dunedin) was fined 10/- and ordered to pay 10/costs; George Hunt (Mataura) was fined 10/- and ordered to pay .10/costs and bn a second charge of driving a car without efficient brakes he was fined £1 and ordered to pay 10/- costs.
