Nurses’ Association
ANNUAL BRIDGE DRIVE. On Wednesday evening the Registered Nurses’ Association held a bridge drive in aid of the Nurses’ Memorial Fund which was created after the war for the purpose of enabling qualified nurses to obtain assistance. For the past three years the association has held an annual bridge drive to help the fund and the function in the Country Club on Wednesday evening was an unprecedented success there being nearly 400 people present. The guests were received by Miss G. Stubbs, Miss Ross and Mrs James Hargest. The prizes were donated by Mesdames W. J. Barclay and A. Owen-Johnston, Misses Stubbs, Ross, Kerse and Maclntyre and at the close of the evening were presented by Mr James Hargest to the following winners: First hidden number, Mrs L. A. Chapman and Mr N. Derbie; second hidden number, Miss Hughes and Mr K. Muirson; 500, Miss Perry and Mr W. Stewart; Newmarket, Mrs Meredith. Those present were Mr and Mrs James Hargest, Dr and Mrs W. J. Barclay, Dr K.
