WRIGHTS BUSH NOTES

FOOTBALL CLUB’S DANCE. (From Our Correspondent.) On Tuesday evening a dance in aid of the Football Club was held in the Wrights Bush Hall. After supper Mr Macnamara, on behalf of the Football Club, presented Mr H. MacDonald .nd Mr L. Strang with a small present in recognition of their services to the Football Club. Mr MacDonald and Mr Strang suitably replied. Music for the dance was supplied by Mrs Toole (piano) and Mr A. McDonald (accordion), the duties of M.C. being carried out by Mr J. Meehan. Amongst those present were: Mr and Mrs MacDonald, Mr and Mrs Strang, Mr and Mrs Carter; Mesdames Taylor, Meehan, McCallum, McDonald, Batt (2), Misses Jackson, Clode, Meehan, Robertson, Macnamara, Cavanagh; Messrs Jackson,’ Findlay, Anderson, Toole, Swann (2), Bath, Robertson, McCallum, McDonald, Cavanagh, McKenzie, Hogdett, Macnamara, Meehan, Cleary. The Tennis Club held their fortnightly euchre and dance on Saturday evening, there being a good attendance.

The winners for the euchre were Mrs Toole and Mr B. Perrian, the consolation prizes going to Miss Carter and F. Bath. Mrs Toole supplied music for the dance and Mr J. Meehan carried out the duties of M.C. Personal. Mr and Mrs Clark have returned from their holiday in Christchurch. Miss Clode is spending a holiday in Invercargill. Miss Scott has returned home after spending educational week at Invercargill. *
