SEVEN-HOUR SPEECH.
BLOCKING N.R.A. RESOLUTION.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.0 p.m.) Washington, June 12. Senator H. Long seized the centre of the political stage again to-;day with one of his most determined filibusters in which he spoke steadily for over seven, hours on the floor of the Senate and is still talking, this being an effort to prevent the passage of the N.R.A. extension resolution. He launched an attack on Mr Roosevelt, and then varied his method with wit. “If the President doesnt do any better I may have to take it,” he said. “I’ll be chosen practically unanimously by both parties. It’s the stumbles and blunders and mistakes of my enemies that have made a man of Huey Long. Then he gave a learned dissertation on the art of cooking as practised in his native state. Senators sat sleeping, waiting for him to weary as the session promised to continue throughout tlie night. _________
