RECORD ATLANTIC CROSSING.
BRITISH CONGRATULATIONS.

(Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, June 12. Plans for welcoming the French liner Normandie on her arrival at Plymouth to-day after her record run were interfered with owing to heavy seas. Four hawsers connecting a tender with Customs and immigration officers on board snapped before' communication with the liner was established. The passsengers were unable to leave the ship for several hours. Before their departure the DeputyLord Mayor of Plymouth and other civic officials went on board and congratulated the commander of the vessel on their great achievement.
