WINTON BRANCH. (From Our Correspondent.) At the monthly meeting of the Winton sub-branch of the Plunket Society the president, Mrs W. H. King, presided over Mesdames H. Anderson, J. Brown, C. A. Caigou, H. J. Davie, A. Hamilton, J. Henderson, R. King, C. McDonald, T. S. Smith, R. Swale, C. Wilson, J. J. Woods and Miss N. King. Motions of sympathy were passed with Mrs J. A. Broom and Mrs M. Reilly in the loss which they had sustained through the deaths of relatives. The president reported that she and Mrs T. S. Smith had attended the annual meeting of the executive held at Lumsden at the beginning of May and that she had been appointed delegate to the annual conference. The following remit had also been forwarded: “That all nurses training for Plunket work should take a course in a children’s hospital so as to be able to recognize disease in babies.” Mrs G. King was appointed a new member to the local committee.
The following nurse’s report for February and March was read: Winton visited 8 times; home visits, 24; attendance at rooms, adults 124, babies 113; pre-school children, 16; new cases, 5. _______________
