WAIMATUKU NOTES
BIBLE CLASS RALLY. (From Our Correspondent.) The Western District Bible Classes held their annual rally at Waimatuku on June 3. The day was commenced with a service in the church, the. speaker being the Rev. T. A. Speir, of Bluff. The afternoon was spent at sports. Tea was served at 5.30, after which the Rev. A. McFarlane, of Riverton, presented the cup for most points in the sports to Waimatuku. A service was held in the church at 6.30, Miss Thompson, of Dunedin, taking the service and Miss Wesney, of Tuatapere, singing a solo. The following are the results of the sports.—Final of Football: Otautau 5 v. Thornbury 0; final of basketball: Waimatuku 6v. Otautau A 3. Boys events: 100yds (senior): Waimatuku 1 and 3, Riverton 2. 100yds (junior): Waimatuku 1, Riverton 2. Otautau and Waimatuku 3, equal. 220yds (senior): Waimatuku 1 and 2, Riverton 3. 220yds (junior): Waimatuku 1 and 3, Riverton 2. 440jjds (senior): Waimatuku 1,2 and 3. 440yds (junior): Waimatuku 1 and 3, Riverton 2. Long jump (senior): Otautau 1, Waimatuku 2, Riverton 3. Long jump (junior): Waimatuku 1, Riverton 2, Otautau 3. Hop, step and jump (senior): Waimatuku 1, Riverton 2, Otautau 3. Hop, step and jump (junior): Waimatuku 1, Riverton 2, Otautau 3.
