PAMPHLETS SEIZED

RUSSIAN LITERATURE. AUSTRALIAN MINER’S RETURN. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Melbourne, July 17. Books and pamphlets brought from Russia by Mr J. E. Goldsmith, who represented the Wonthaggi miners in the Australian delegation which visited Russia to attend the May Day celebrations, were seized by the Customs officials when he arrived at Melbourne. Mr Goldsmith inspected the Russian coalfields at Stalina. He said the workers’ conditions in the .mines there were far superior to those in Australia. The miners had four days on and one day off on full pay each week.
