AMERICAN DAVIS CUP TEAM. STOEFFEN DEFEATS ALLISON. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Chicago, April 8. A Houston (Texas) message states that Lester Stoeffen strengthened his claim to a place in the Davis Cup team to-day when he defeated Wilmer Allison &—2, 6—2, 6—2 in the tournament final.
