MURDER IN CHICAGO

POLITICAL WORKER KILLED. BITTER ELECTION CAMPAIGN. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Chicago, April 8. Joseph Tierno, a political worker, was “taken for a ride” and murdered to-day in what the police believe to be an outbreak of violence in connection with the primary election which takes place next Tuesday. Robbery was obviously not the purpose as a considerable amount of money and jewellery was ignored. The election campaign is as bitter as usual and the police anticipate much additional violence.
