CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE ABANDONED.

Congress leaders at a meeting at Allahabad during the week-end decided not to resume the civil disobedience movement in which peasants were urged not to pay rent or taxes to the Government, Gandhi having expressed himself against a renewal of the campaign. The leaders decided to concentrate on improving the conditions of the peasantry.
